TeamIpswich Water Polo
junior squads excel
TeamIpswich Water Polo's junior
sides have completed the inaugural
East Region Water Polo age group
summer leagues by taking the
under 17 and under 13 titles, and
finishing second in the under 15s.
The Under 17s led the way taking
their title without losing a game.
Colchester, who finished second, proved to be TeamIpswich's toughest opponents, with other fixtures home and away fixtures against Chelmsford, Deben and Basildon.
Two players from the TeamIpswich squad, Olly Ward and Ben Clarke, represented the East Region in the ASA Under 17 Regional Youth Championships with James Poole in the under 15 regional squad. In addition, James Poole, Brad Watts, Thomas Mills and Kieran Harris attended an under 15 national talent coaching week at Millfield school during the summer.
Other members of the under 17 squad were Dominic Hedgley, Olly Osborne, James Pratley, Patryk Tomczuk, Conor O'Donoghue, Andrew Marsh, Tomas Gould, Dan Harris and Finlay Parnell, the latter two also playing for the club at both under 15 and under 13 levels.
Team captain Phil Trett said: "It has been a fantastic effort across the squads with the general standard improving hugely over the year. The selection of Olly Ward, Ben Clarke and James Poole to represent the club at regional level also reflected the standards achieved in the junior squads under coach Tom Ealham."
